Mazarin released its first iPhone Application to Apple store today. The application was built for Rikslunchen, one of Mazarin's clients for whom Mazarin has built a complete web based solution for their lunch card business.

The Rikslunchen iPhone App connects through web services to the Riklunchen services platform to provide various complementary services to the lunch card holder. The App will have facilities for the user to search for the favorite restaurant and give comments on the menu, which will be shared with the rest of the members of the Rikslunchen community.

Mazarin's CEO Peter Lansfjord believes that Mazarin's new competency in iPhone application development will enable our client to bring new dimensions into their solutions. He further stated that coupled with the usual web based solutions, now Mazarin clients have the choice to make their solutions available at the fingertips of any iPhone user.

Celebrating the success Suren Nanayakkara, CTO of Mazarin had this to say. “Today's success in Rikslunchen's iPhone application release opens up a new business vertical in Mazarin's software consultancy business. We started our iPhone development with little knowledge. We asked two of our engineers to learn everything that one need to know about developing applications for iPhone. Overall I'm happy about the effort and achievement.”

“It was a different experience from web applications development. You need to focus more on providing a rich user experience while managing the limited resources available on the iPhone mobile platform. So our designs have to be modified accordingly” says Theranjali Nilaweera, Mazarin's main iPhone development engineer. “In addition conforming to coding and application standards required for the approval of Apple's iPhone App Store and going through the approval process is also a good experience to any person wishing to engage in iPhone application development.”

With this success Mazarin has taken on more iPhone applications development projects.
